Duration: 3 years + 1 Year Internship

Bachelor of Science in Emergency and Trauma Care Technology or B.Sc. (Emergency and Trauma Care Technology) is a three year graduate programme. The course covers disease processes and specialised bedside techniques, and technical abilities for dealing with critical/emergency/traumatic situations. After completing the course, students will have handled significant medical and surgical cases (including cardiac, neurological, polytrauma, and paediatric emergencies).

During the course students are educated to administer emergency medications and attach emergency medical equipment to patients. Students are taught how to connect life support systems to patients, such as infusion pumps and ventilators, to keep them stable until a doctor arrives. Preparing transport critically ill patients in stable condition to hospitals in an emergency, along with all aspects of emergency medical equipment and the technologies involved in life support systems in ambulances for ICCU and ICU patients is covered in the course.

This three year course is focused on teaching CPR and First Aid skills for various types of patients and how to deal with patients' post-traumatic circumstances. On completion of the course, students will be experienced in handling serious medical and surgical emergencies (including cardiac, neurological, polytrauma and pediatric emergencies).

A physician who specialises in emergency medicine is in high demand across the healthcare industry. Private hospitals, NGOs, peacekeeping operations, government hospitals, and organisations are all options for Emergency Medicine specialists. In emergency medicine, the wage package and additional benefits are pretty competitive and appealing. Some of the common job roles that can be taken by pursuing a career in this direction are - Cath Lab Technician, Consultant Nephrologist, Emergency Trauma Care Technician, ICU-Intensivist, Teacher/Lecturer etc.

Eligibility:

• Students should have passed their 10+2 (Medical) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
• The candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent at their Intermediate level.
